The city of New York, New York, currently has 10 active clinical trials seeking participants for Rheumatoid Arthritis research studies.
Actis Total Hip System 2 Year Follow-up

Nivolumab in Treating Patients With Autoimmune Disorders and Advanced, Metastatic, or Unresectable Cancer
Recruiting
This phase Ib trial studies the side effects of nivolumab and to see how well it works in treating patients with autoimmune disorders and cancer that has spread to other places in the body or cannot removed by surgery. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as nivolumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread.

RA-PRO PRAGMATIC TRIAL
Recruiting
The 2021 ACR RA treatment guideline, based on widely acknowledged low to moderate quality evidence, recommends switching to a non-tumor necrosis factor (TNFi) biologic (choose among existing medications, currently, rituximab, abatacept, tocilizumab, or sarilumab) or a targeted synthetic DMARD arm (tsDMARD; choose among existing medications, currently, tofacitinib, baricitinib, upadacitinib) in patients with active RA despite the use of a TNFi-biologic. In practice, most patients receive another... Read More

Analysis of T and B Cell Repertoire Changes in Response to Orencia® (Abatacept) in Rheumatoid Arthritis
Recruiting
The condition that will be studied is Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), and in particular, RA patients with moderate to highly active disease who were prescribed Abatacept (Orencia®) (ABA) by their physician during their setting of care at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS). This investigator-initiated, prospective, comparative, 3-arm observational study will examine changes in lymphocytes in RA patients starting abatacept compared to RA patients starting TNF inhibitors and to healthy controls. Exactech Shoulder Post Market Clinical Follow-up Study
Recruiting
The objective of this study is to collect and evaluate long-term clinical and radiographic outcomes data in order to better understand the safety and performance of the shoulder arthroplasty over time. This study will follow subjects long-term for a minimum of 10-years, without an early-term restriction on the amount of time they will be followed.

Collection of Airway, Blood and/or Urine Specimens From Subjects for Research Studies
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to obtain biologic materials from the blood, airways and/or urine of normal individuals and individuals with lung disease. The normal are used to establish a set of normal ranges for various parameters. These provide control information when compared to individuals with various pulmonary diseases, and will help in understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of various lung diseases. The underlying hypothesis is that the pathologic morphological changes in the airw... Read More

Effects of Administration of SCFA in Rheumatoid Arthritis Inadequate Responders
Recruiting
This study is a pilot, proof of concept study to determine the effects of administering an oral short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) supplement to Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) patients with inadequate response to methotrexate (MTX). The study will include up to 35 participants to obtain a sample size of at least 25 participants taking the oral supplement. The researchers hypothesize that oral SCFA will change the participants' gut microbiome and regulatory immune responses. Clinical data to assess for adv... Read More

Cardiovascular Risk Assessment for Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis Arthritis:
Recruiting
One of the greatest success stories in rheumatology - the achievement of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) remission - is tempered by the fact that individuals with RA are dramatically under evaluated and under treated to reduce the risk for heart attacks and strokes. This project will build the foundation for an intervention that will test the hypothesis that the patient-centered intervention tailored to patients with RA to improve hyperlipidemia screening and treatment, thereby decreasing the risk for... Novel Form of Acquired Long QT Syndrome
Recruiting
The goal of this study is to determine whether anti-Ro/SSA antibodies are associated with acquired QT prolongation in subjects with connective tissue disease. The investigators will investigate whether gender or race influence correlation between anti-Ro antibody status and prolonged QT interval and the role of inflammatory cytokines in association with anti-Ro antibodies and QT prolongation. The investigators propose to add an additional objective to test whether QT prolongation is reversible w... Read More
